Submissions

The Regional Telecommunications Independent Review Committee has been pleased to receive a strong response from individuals, organisations and businesses, following the release of its discussion paper in September 2007.

We recognise the investment and effort made by those who have submitted submissions and the Committee members’ thank you for that. The submissions provide detailed information to the Committee on the telecommunications issues being faced in regional, rural and remote areas and will be invaluable in our deliberations.

All non-confidential submissions will be posted on this webpage shortly.

The Committee will report to the Australian Government on the outcomes of the Regional Telecommunications Review in August 2008, drawing on submissions received and input from public consultations held in the first half of 2008. The purpose of these meetings was to hear first hand from those living and working in regional, rural and remote parts of Australia.

The Committee still welcomes written submissions from the public. However, you are urged to provide your submissions as soon as practicable within the reporting timetable of August 2008.

Making a submission

Written submissions should include a completed submission cover sheet (File format: RTF, File size: 788Kb) and where possible be provided in an electronic form. Email submissions are preferred; however, hard copy submission will be accepted by post or fax.

Confidentiality

Submissions may be made publicly available on the RTIRC website. Persons providing a submission should indicate clearly if any aspect of their submission should not be made public. Where confidentiality is requested, submitters are encouraged to provide a public version of their submission that can be made available on the website. Please note that the Committee reserves the right not to publish documents or other information that it receives from industry or the public.

Please note that a number of other telecommunications-related reviews are also currently underway. Unless you request otherwise, the information you provide may also be considered by those reviews.
