Public consultation is an important part of the Regional Telecommunications Review. The Committee is required to consult publicly under its establishing laws and Terms of Reference.
Public consultation for the Review has now ended. The Committee thanks all those who contributed their time and views to this important process.
The Committee has considered the feedback received through the consultation process and has now provided its report to the Australian Government. The report includes the findings of the Review and recommendations to further improve the provision of telecommunications services in regional, rural and remote areas.
The report is available here.
Issues Paper
The Committee released the 2021 Regional Telecommunications Review Issues Paper on 14 July 2021. The Issues Paper set out the key areas of interest for the Review and questions that interested parties could use to develop written submissions to the Committee.
Submissions to the Review closed on 30 September 2021. The Committee received over 650 written submissions from members of the public, community organisations, businesses, and local, state and territory governments.
Written submissions have been considered by the Committee as part of its final report to the Australian Government. Non-confidential submissions are now publicly available on the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications’ Have Your Say page.
Please email secretariat@rtirc.gov.au if you have any concerns about the confidentiality of your submission.
